There appears to be no captain or rudder to this ship.

Either we were intentionally blocked out, or it was incompetence, or it was neglect.

None of those scenarios are desirable.

Here’s the brass tax — the new owner had a different vision for the site. When his hired minion ‘Darko’, started implementing it — people started crying from the rooftops ‘NOOOOOO’.

Look at the people banned from the purges in the spring . They were all the people saying hell NO to the changes - like closing and archiving the pit.

Which was done by Darko at the owners behest. None of it panned out well and the user base was pissed about it.

Now, it sits and waits for demolition by negligence.

OR will the owner come through and save the day? I’m not putting my money on that.

'day KKLOKO, 'day purplemer.

There is this:

ATS user OnlyYouKnow2 posted that there was a big global hack of a zero-day bug in Cisco servers in this thread: www.abovetopsecret.com... .

Tens of thousands of Cisco devices compromised after hackers . . .

That article was October 20th.

From above link:

Censys, a search engine for Internet-connected devices and assets, observed nearly 42,000 compromised cisco devices.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability allows an attacker to create an account on the affected device with "privalage level 15" access, effectively granting them full control of the compromised device and allowing possible subsequent unauthorised activity . . .

From what I can gather from those who heard from ghost.
Darko came here to destroy ats.

I don't believe that to be accurate.

I am glad I was able to reread this part of the thread.
I most definitely DID misspeak that part.
The way I wrote it does make it inaccurate as nobody I was able to glean from who interacted with ghost said or even implied Darko CAME HERE to destroy ats.

They did imply Darko left it destroyed.

It was my thoughts I carried where it was Darkos intent to destroy it from the beginning.

I had presupposed Darkos intent for months before all this recent happenings and interjected my presuppositions into how I interpreted these recent events.

Some days I smoke too much and by the time evening comes I can miss these important nuances.

I simply got too excited with ghosts new presence and hyped up myself.

My apologies.
You are right not to believe that was accurate.

I see you found it. I was in there looking for the link for you specifically.

I reckon the exploitation of a zero-day bug is probably how "they" got in. But one would have to be in the know.

I wonder, this being ATS and all, was ATS was one of the primary targets. The implication is the group in the know would have used all the affected machines as cover. No one would be sure which was the true target.

No problem. It's entirely possible I'm dead wrong, and it wouldn't be the first time. I'm no fan of the way Mr Darko went about conducting business, but I never got a malice vibe from him. I'm not sensitive to the paranormal stuff, but I've got a fairly acute jerkwagon antenna.

Imagine a club you go to every day

One day the doors are locked and the owners cant be found

The managers don't have keys

Then someone fonds some keys that work

The managers go to work
Customers come in

But the owners stay mia

That is ats now. Nothing is certain except many of us will be here, doing what we can, until the end

Where's freaking Columbo to say, "oh yeah, there is just one more thing?"

About those keys.

I realize there's this story, but what happens when a specific observation contradicts everything said thereafter? And within 24 hours of said breach. Either I need haloperidol or I watched a specific mod log in to moderate the pornographic imagery associated with some troll-woman's erotica threads.

Maybe the mystery hacker drew a line of decency too? Limits to even the trolling. I'm going to call that the white star exception. (Inside joke)

Maybe I'm overthinking this.
