Title taken from sky news report.
This is breaking news.
An assasination attempt was made on the Slovakian PM Robert Flico.
Several shots were made, and Mr Flico was immediately taken to hospital with reported gun wounds to his abdomen.
The 'alleged' assasin was detained at the scene.
Sky news link
There are no further reports at this time of Mr Flico's condition.
There is a short film footage of him being carried to his vehicle by his personal security which I have just seen on GBNews.

I saw this too.

I think populations across some eastern countries like Slovakia & Georgia are becoming worried and angry that some politicians seem to have 'switched' allegiances. Mr Fico who had been supporting Ukraine had stopped military aid and now also opposes EU sanctions on Russia while aalso now wanting to block Ukraine from joining Nato.

Yes, he seems to be an 'interesting' character for sure.
Latest.... he has been stabilised at one hospital and is currently being air lifted to a specialist trauma hospital.

Didn’t he just recently formally and publicly oppose the WHO dystopian mandate to supercede sovereignty?

Big if true.

At first I thought this may be related to Ficos government stopping support for Ukraine-But I just read an article which suggests links between close associates of Fico and the Ndrangheta (a mafia outfit)-A Slovakian journalist and his fiance was murdererd for a story he was working on which exposed these links:

Jan Kuciak's investigation was only published after his death. He had exposed the presence of the 'Ndrangheta in Slovakia.
But he also discovered apparent business links between an alleged 'Ndrangheta member called Antonino Vadala and two senior government advisers.

Both advisers worked for Prime Minister Fico, although no evidence has emerged that he knew of the links.

They too stepped down temporarily while the matter is being investigated but vehemently denied any connection with "this horrid crime".
Police searched Antonino Vadala's house in Slovakia in March 2018

www.bbc.co.uk...

Sounds like Mr Fico was maybe involved in some shady stuff.

Would we be surprised? I bet many PM's, Presidents and other 'high ranking' political figures might be a tad worried right now.

Slovakian head of government Fico sees Ukraine under US control.

The left-wing populist Slovakian head of government Robert Fico has once again spoken out against Ukraine joining Nato - and declared that the country is under the complete "control" of the USA. "Ukraine is not an independent and sovereign country", the Russia-friendly politician said on Saturday on the RTVS channel. "Ukraine is completely under the influence and control of the USA."

The debate surrounding COVID-19 vaccinations has reached a new dimension as Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico made a link between the vaccines and an increase in deaths from cardiovascular disease in a speech to parliament. In his speech, he described the vaccines as "experimental" and questioned their necessity, triggering far-reaching discussions within European health policy.

A critical look at the vaccination strategy

The prime minister's comments come at a time when a committee is being set up in Slovakia to critically evaluate the measures taken during the coronavirus pandemic. Fico emphasized that it is necessary to review the legality, efficiency and effectiveness of the decisions taken. He expressed concerns that fundamental rights and freedoms may not have been sufficiently protected during the pandemic.

Transparency at the center of criticism

Another point of criticism from the Slovakian Prime Minister related to transparency in dealing with vaccine procurement. He specifically criticized President of the EU Ursula von der Leyen for withholding communications with the Pfizer CEO about the purchase of the coronavirus vaccine. Fico demanded that the public had a right to know the background and costs of the vaccination campaign.

Increase in deaths in Slovakia

The Slovakian government has recorded an increase in deaths of 21,000 since 2020, which Fico sees as a direct result of the political decisions of his predecessors and the vaccination campaign. These figures are grist to the mill for those calling for a critical review of the coronavirus measures.

The Slovakian Prime Minister's statements have sparked an intense debate in Slovakia and beyond. They reflect a growing concern about the effects and handling of COVID-19 vaccines that can be observed not only in Slovakia, but also in other parts of Europe and the world. It remains to be seen how the criticism will affect future health policy and the relationship between governments and the pharmaceutical industry.

Yes, and they are starting their C19 enquiry too. He's pointed fingers at Ursula Van der Lyon (or however you spell her name) for taking kickbacks or some such as she wont release her conversations with Pfeizer.

He seems to be ok after surgery... he will survive.

What is strange about this to me is that he is pro-Russia... Slovak PM Robert Fico is.

But the assassination attempt came from a pro-Russia paramilitary group that named themselves Slovenskí Branci (SB). The assailant, writer Juraj Cintula, works with Branci. And Branci were, and are, trained by Russian Spetsnatz.

Why would Putin want to take out a politician that leans his way? Chaos? Unrest? Someone in his ranks pulling strings without his knowledge?

Let's not forget that every leader who questioned the rollout has been "Offed" This is obviously way bigger than chance would suggest. Some entity has assets close enough to keep everyone in line.
