They want to ban cigarettes but it’s still totally fine with them if you smoke a joint, which is as unhealthy as smoking 5 cigarettes.
Move along, nothing to see here.

Tax revenues?

The gov't has already lost all control of tobacco sales, they just don't know it.

In my neighborhood, cigarettes are $13/pack because of all the taxes added to it.

But in the same store where I can buy Newport or Marlboro for $13/pack I can also get Seneca for $5/pack regular or menthol. And the Seneca's are good, I know as I'm a smoker that's quit repeatedly and always gone back and I smoke them.

Everyone in my neighborhood smokes them. Gov't revenue? $0.00

I knew I like you bro!
I told everyone else they just are mean and that you're cool.

As for this cig thing....I just learned very recently that apparently now you have to be 21 to buy them...TF did that happen guys?

Bad thing. They banned them over here. Also banned packs of 10 cigs.

Now they want to tax vapes

You should really not be using a vape my man.
The wall it builds inside your lungs make it extremely difficult to get a good hearing of your lungs.
Like for real throw that crap away and get pipe tobacco or something. But STOP VAPE...or just hit it very rarely. I am being super cereal man

Don't you know? The children are the governments, not the parents. Only silly plebes believe otherwise.

Yep. In their minds "It takes a village". Hillary Clinton "wrote" a book about it.

Better than 90% of this creeps proposals never see the light of day. In 8 months he will be a lame duck.

Im pretty sure they already banned menthol in California. This is what the Dems want to do regardless of who the president is.

... mainly it was black people who smoked menthols.

What I don't get is why ban menthols and not all cigarettes.

Because they're racist. LOL

Regular Smoke will be next.
Then who knows what after that.
Beer Liquor etc.

Well .. it looks like it's hispanic and black people who smoke them because those are the groups that are against this ban. What I don't get is why ban menthols and not all cigarettes. They both cause cancer so why single out menthols and not go for the regular cigarettes too. This ban makes no sense to me.

We call it the "Nanny State".

Government needs to create opportunities to provide extra services and protections so people feel like they need more government intruding in our personal lifestyle choices. Because that makes perfect sense.

Do you know why liquor stores did not close during lockdown?
They absolutely will go on to fully ban cigs...but the drink?
Not going to happen.

I would agree with this. I don't have any proof, or science, or articles to link to but vapes just feel bad in my lungs. It's like water in my lungs. It's like my body is telling me vapes are way worse than smoking and I'm going to listen to my body.

Alcoholics would go through withdrawl, that's why they stayed open.

YUP, so I don't think they will ban the drink.
Well not in my lifetime so at the very least 1yr to 35yrs

They will never ban alcohol. It makes us docile and stupid — just how they want us.

A good argument to that would be the whole weed thing but the economic history behind the weeds could counter that.
I think I just argued my own counter...Good morning

They are also banning Backwoods and all tobacco wraps. Companies have had 2 years to switch to healthier alternatives like cbd infused wraps which sell very well.

There is nothing healthy about any of it.
If you are banning menthol cigarettes for being unhealthy,
then why aren't you banning all the others? It's all unhealthy.
This makes no sense.

I believe at this point they would need a constitutional amendment to ban alcohol again, and Democrats would prefer to just make executive orders and sign things in to law. They just want to do what they want without having to get votes.
