BUT at the same time, all groceries are insanely expensive. We had to cut back on what we are eating. We weren't extravagant before, but now we really are cut down to just the essentials. No snacks. No meats like steak or pork etc, just chicken.

I don't know what we are going to do when retirement hits. Cut down to two small meals a day? Probably.

I’ve been getting Cornish hens, and they are actually cheaper than good chickens in my area. The meat is so much better too. It has texture like chickens used to have.

If you are able go to a bigger farmers market in the summer try it. I went to a big one and the prices were 1/4 of the grocery store for most things. Sure there was some overpriced stuff, but because of the competition between vendors there was a lot of really low priced stuff and it was top quality!

Last I heard he was giving pirate tours in St. Augustine, and at night he offers his services, rent a sociopath/antique appraiser. Quite lucrative I hear.

With inflation it’s the opposite. There are products but people just can’t afford them.
Both our grocery stores and regular stores are filled.

I’ve read conflicting stories that this is a strong retail season, and others that say it’s down.
Hard to know which is true. There may be less shoppers in the stores because people are buying more online now?
We’ll know in a few months!
