I’ll just spend cash. If my representative were to vote for such a law we would be waiting for his return home with pitchforks and torches.

Until they decide that the possession and transferring of cash is spreading the next outbreak, and then it will have to go.

They also need a law prohibiting any malfunction of all computer systems connected to banking.
What are you talking about ?

The whole point of CBDC’S is to control how you spend your money, it will be tied in with personal ESG scores. If you’re rich enough you will be able to offset this as with carbon credits, otherwise you will have limits on most things. They don’t really want you to leave the 15 minute cities never mind holidays abroad.
In communist countries it will , but not in the West , because we are a capitalist society.
No one in America cares if you have good or bad credit or are a criminal , just as long as you are buying stuff.
Do you think Amazon , Hollywood , Microsoft etc want their products limited to who can buy based on a social score like in China ?

That does not sound good. I already tried to request to not have smart meters installed and they installed it anyway. Then it was such a huge process to get it removed that I gave up.

Government loves making things harder for citizens it seems like.

Lenders still care about credit scores and employers still care about criminal records.

My comment has nothing to do with loans or jobs . Drug dealers stimulate the economy.
In China your social credit score restricts what stores & events you can go to .
In America , the Capitalist could care less where your money comes from as long as you spend it.
So , Capitalism does not want to limit anyone’s access to the ability to spend money anywhere or on anything !

If/when CBDC is implemented it will be the last straw withdrawn from your freedom.
TPTB will control everything about you. If your social credit score is low/bad you won't be able to purchase anything they do not approve of.

If/when the internet goes down, either due to hacking, power disruption, whatever people won't have any way to pay for things.

I forget not everybody gets attempts at humor; sorry.

It’s merely an illusion of a capitalist society, what we actually have is a corporate monopoly closer to facism. Black rock and Vanguard practically own everything.

As for buying stuff they are transitioning to subscription based services where you rent as opposed to owning anything, as the average person increasingly finds themselves economically disenfranchised and having to rely on UBI to meet their basic living costs, these companies you mentioned are inevitably going to take a hit.

They too have been propped up by massive bailouts from the government, indirectly or not the capitalist system has already failed.

The richest people in the world happen to be capitalists.
Capitalism works for those who own it & those who can afford to invest in it .
America is many moons away from rental base life if ever at all .
It’s real simple, when the largest group of Americans are no more , the 2nd world transition will be complete & America will officially become two demographics , poor & rich .
Middle class is broke now & lives way outside it’s means .
America became soft in all it’s glory & wealth.
Gen Z & Gen Alpha are toast .
Gen X is the last of the American dream & they would not make it out without inheriting from their boomer parents.
The Boomers in their greed have destroyed America with their F’ed up voting & politics.
People today have lost their economic minds ,
200$ phone plans , 250$ cable/streaming/internet & eating out constantly. So it is a double edge sword.
